I started training with Inta-Fitness in late April 2008 after discovering them on the web.
I was looking for a more intense training option having lost motivation and drive to get to the local gym myself. The very informative and thorough website enticed me to find out more and after meeting Mr Inta-Fitness himself (!), I signed up on the spot!
Having recently lost a fair amount of weight through strict dieting and casual exercise I had reached a point where I needed something more. At 31 I have NEVER been 100% happy with my body and my fitness level and so decided it was time to knuckle down and get the body I wanted once and for all.
After my first 24 sessions the results were noticeable. I lost weight and inches, (those abs that have been hidden for far too long were starting to show their face!!) and my fitness and strength improved greatly.
To complement my new training program I started following Neil’s eating plan. The healthy eating has given me heaps of energy to tackle the gruelling exercise while setting me up for the long term with a clean, balanced diet.
I have signed up for another 24 sessions and look forward to seeing the progression from my first round of results. The exercise is getting more intense, but it is all worth it. Working out at the Inta-Fitness studio is great fun - to be able to have a laugh and actually enjoy myself while exercising has been a huge factor in maintaining my motivation.

‘Get Outa-Fatness and Inta-Fitness’
For a long time now, having always been overweight, I have spent a lot of my time THINKING about getting fit and healthy and not actually DOING anything about it! I’ve tried a lot of quick fixes and fad diets that haven’t been successful long term, so I decided to try the thing that everyone always talks about… healthy eating and exercise!! (GO FIGURE!!)
After losing a fair bit of weight it was time to tone up, get fit and most importantly stay this way for life. After all the hard work and looking at old photos I never want to go back to the way I was. My sister and I were keen to start personal training to assist in pushing us that little step further.
So the slogan caught my eye in Kew ‘Get Outa-Fatness and Inta-Fitness’. That pretty much summed up me - what I’d been trying to do for all these years, now was the time to finally make it happen!! My sister made an appointment to meet with Neil at Inta-Fitness and we haven’t looked back.
Just having started our 2nd round of 10 weeks I feel the fittest I ever have in my life! I remember vividly the first session we had with Neil – two minutes each on the three cardio machines - after just six minutes I couldn’t breathe let alone use my legs, which were like jelly, to walk up the three stairs to the studio. I still had fifty four minutes of the session to go! I must admit it did cross my mind then – why am I paying for this pain? but knowing just how unfit I was the answer was simply and evident – to add years onto my life! I have noticed a huge difference in my fitness on the netball court. I’ve played netball since Primary School but since starting the training sessions, I am able to keep up with my opponents and run the entire game out. Since the first training session we have been pushed to all new limits. I am able to notice my arms turning from flab to muscle and after all the crunches a six pack is just one day waiting to pop out!
So the results, I feel and see, keep me going but that’s not the only thing. Neil, the wonderful trainer, makes sessions tough but heaps of fun. I may not be the most coordinated individual and I certainly complain a lot but Neil puts up with me and pushes me towards my goals. Whilst he is the ‘guru’ in nutrition and fitness, which is exactly what I need, he is also a barrel of laughs with a plentiful supply of good jokes up his sleeve! The training sessions just fly by in the blink of eye and never have I had this much fun working out!
Anyone that can get me to rock up to training three times a week religiously, especially get me out of bed on a Saturday morning, has got to be pretty inspirational! Thanks Neil.

Having reached a certain mature age and the beginnings of some physical limitations I decided it was time to make some positive changes. With limited time to spare, earlier activities such as tennis or swimming were not an option.
I visited a range of gyms and for various reasons, decided they were not for me. And then I discovered Mr Inta-Fitness: local, well fitted out and with the option of personal and private training! I’ve chalked up twelve months now, roughly once a week (due to time constraints) and not always easy, but always worthwhile. I feel stronger, fitter, trimmer, more flexible and physically more youthful. |
I have a way to go to be really comfortable with the many ‘challenges’ thrown at me but I believe another twelve months’ will bring this goal much closer. This is Mr and Mrs Smiley, names changed due to them being secret government agents (or something like that)! They have just completed the couples 10 week package and they are very happy with the results! They have managed to change habits, train 3 x per week, eat healthy, work, travel and buy a house all in just 10 weeks, well done guys, we are really proud of you - despite being mean to you during your sessions :) Mr Smiley lost 6.7 kg's and Mrs Smiley lost 3.8kg and at the same time they have built muscle and achieved a level of fitness beyond that which they were accustomed.
"The ten week program with Neil gave us the results that we wanted; we are fitter, healthier, more motivated and lost weight. It was hard -especially the eating plan - but once we got over the sore muscles which clearly had not been used in years, we both started to look forward to every session. Neil worked out the right level of exercise and encouragement/sadism so that we put in maximum effort every session.

Age is no barrier, Margaret trained 2 x per week with as much heart & effort as a person ½ her age and she is as fit & strong at 65 as she was in her younger years. No risk of age related decline or osteoporosis for her! Great Job Margaret – well done.
I love to exercise and stay in shape. I am 65 but I don't want to be the stereotype of what people expect 65 year olds to do and to be. I don't 'think' old, and I certainly don't want to 'act' old. I've been training with Neil for about 7 months. I've had a number of trainers over the years but few have been as professional or knowledgeable as Neil. He explains why we do the exercises we do and how they impact on what I do daily. This is really great. The best part is that he doesn't take it easy on me either, which is good because I like to be pushed and I train because I like to work hard.

I was 31 weeks pregnant in this photo and feeling fit and healthy. I was keen to keep exercising throughout my pregnancy for my own health and that of my baby, but I was very nervous about what exercises I was allowed to do and what I should avoid. Neil knew exactly what I should be doing, and he also explained what I should avoid and why. This also helped me a lot when I was making decisions on what to do outside of my personal training classes. Neil was always happy to answer my many questions and his qualifications and experience put me at ease, as I knew I was exercising safely. I’ve been training with Neil since well before my pregnancy and I’m sure he’ll help me get back into shape after the baby is born.

We do group training and we have a great laugh while working our butts off. Neil makes us do the funniest things, you wouldn’t think it was exercise but man is it hard work and we’re feeling muscles we never knew existed. Our stomachs are sore just from laughing half of the time. We love it!!!

I began training with Neil in 2003 to step up the intensity of my exercise and to get in to shape for my wedding. I went from a fairly boring gym routine and running to challenging weights and boxing. I found this type of training great fun. My training was never the same-old thing, it was always evolving forcing me to rise to the ever-increasing challenges that Neil set for me. Most importantly it got results.
I returned to Inta-Fitness after having my children. Weight gain and all that stretching had taken its toll and I thought I’d never get my body back! But after 6 weeks of training with Neil, now doing weights and some light cardio, I had some muscles that I could see again and I could chase my toddler without getting puffed. Clothes started to fit properly and I felt terrific!
